Getting the message across
As knowledge is power, we will raise awareness of the health hazards associated with exposure to environmental pollution, with a particular focus on children and women of childbearing age. Efforts in this regard will include:
-
Encourage active participation and engagement between patient partners, communities, and academic researchers through community oriented environmental research.
-
Share our research findings in a relatable and understandable way with families, communities, teachers, school learners at town hall meetings and church gatherings.
-
Educate young women about the harms of engaging in premature unprotected sex, positioning the conversation against the backdrop of poor socioeconomic conditions, exposure to environmental hazards, and potentially life-threatening impacts on their own lives and those of their unborn babies.
Green Living CHERI-Afrika
Environmental degradation and its implications for human health are rooted in unsustainable ways of living. Turning the tide will require grassroots awareness and involvement. This is why CHERI-Afrika has joined hands with the youth and schools to promote carbon neutrality, sustainable agriculture and the circular economy, spreading the message that a green life is a good life.

To work towards CARBON NEUTRALITY, we are advocating for the planting of more trees to balance carbon emissions and remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

To establish SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE practices, we promote the use of homemade compost to grow organic fruit and vegetables in community gardens, balancing the need for food production with the imperative to preserve our environmental ecosystems.

To help build the CIRCULAR ECONOMY, we strive to reduce, reuse and recycle waste, keeping materials, products and services in circulation for as long as possible.
